THE VILLAGE
Monthelie, a village of 198 inhabitants, is located between Volnay and Meursault, at the top of the mountain before the Auxey-Duresses fault.
It is one of the most picturesque towns of the Gold Coast, gathered around itself, built on a hillside with its narrow streets climbing up towards the mountain.
Vineyard flanked against Volnay, prolonging its slope on the east side and that of Duresses to the west, dominating Meursault and the Auxey valley, with 180 hectares of vines.
The plantations are mainly red grapes with less than 5% in white wines.
